Certified public schools and programs in MinnesotaIn 2003, the Minnesota legislature established the Online Learning Option act which gives direction to school districts, charter schools, intermediate districts and consortia of schools on how to deliver public online learning to K-12 students. As of 2008, 21 public school programs were certified to deliver online learning to students beyond the resident district. Each online learning program has unique features, courses, schedules and enrollment procedures. The statute defines online learning, directs schools on qualifications for providing online education and establishes the processes for enrollment of public school students in online learning programs. A list of certified public online learning programs is listed on the Minnesota Department of Education Online Learning page. Search certified K-12 online learning programs on ISEEK.
