Skills and Knowledge for Green Jobs

Most people find career satisfaction comes when a job fits their interests and values. If you have a sense of responsibility for the planet and the health and livelihoods of its inhabitants, a green career might be for you.

What is a green career? It may be considered any occupation that produces a product, or uses processes, which benefits or causes the least amount of negative impact on the environment.

Green careers are not restricted to conservation scientists, solar panel installers, or wind tower mechanics, for example. Look at the nature and purpose of the job or the mission of the employer. And don’t forget that you can make almost any job “green” if you are willing to apply your values and upgrade your skills. You can help your workplace become more environmentally responsible!
