Keyword Search Tips

• If you get too many results, try narrowing your search. Enter a new word or phrase and select "Narrow your search" before clicking the Search button. This will find all the pages within the current results that contain your new search term.

• Use multiple, specific words. Your results will contain as many of these words as possible.

• Use + to indicate that the results found must contain all the words containing +. For example, to find courses that contain the words computer and repair (not necessarily next to each other), enter:

  +computer +repair. (NOTE: Use + instead of the boolean AND.)

• Surround phrases with quotation marks, separated with commas, to indicate that the results must contain that exact phrase. For example:

  "computer repair"

  "computer repair", "computer equipment"

• Use + or - to require or reject terms.

  +programming +java -introduction

  Programming alone is ambiguous. You can use the "plus" sign to require that the words "programming" and "java" be in the document and you can use the "minus" sign to eliminate the documents with the word "introduction".
