Work-based Learning
Work-based learning is a way to discover things you can't learn in a classroom. It can help you improve academically and learn how what you're learning in the classroom relates to the real world. It can also give you inside information about a career you're interested in, or simply get a taste of what it's really like on the job. Use this tool to search for:
- Apprenticeships - Combines structured on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Is for anyone interested in learning a skilled craft or trade. You are paid for your work.
- Internships - A short-term work experience that allows you to gain practical skills and learn about an occupation. Can be paid or unpaid.
- Job Shadowing - Follow an employee on the job to experience real, day-to-day work in a specific occupation or industry.
- Mentorship - An experienced adult provides guidance, support, and motivation to help you explore careers and make career and education decisions.
