Women In Pharmacy

Eighteen percent of pharmacy students were women in 1971, but in 2004, 67% of them were. In the May, 2006 Annals of Pharmacotherapy , Hedva Bareholtz Levy noted that 91% of licensed female pharmacists were reportedly actively employed in the field, compared to 86% of the males. Many of these women were working part time while raising their children.

According to the 2006 Pharmacy Compensation Survey by Pharmacy Week and Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Pharmacy Team Managers in 2006 in Hospital/Healthcare had an average annual base pay of $111,600.00 and Staff Pharmacists ? Retail in Hospital/Healthcare were paid $96,800.00. Staff Pharmacists in Chain Drug Stores were paid $103,200.00. Pharmacy Technicians were paid an average annual base salary of $ 29,500.00.
