Minnesota u.select is a multi-state, web-based transfer information system which helps transfer students move from school to school and earn degrees in a timely manner. In Minnesota, the u.select website is supported through a collaboration between the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and the University of Minnesota.
Students are encouraged to plan a course of study carefully and early and then consult an advisor at the school to which they wish to transfer.
u.select is a free service where you can learn about:
- How courses transfer between participating colleges and universities.
- Degree programs that are offered by colleges and universities.
- Transfer planning.
-

• View course equivalencies.
• See program requirements.
• Enter and store course work.
• Request an evaluation of transfer work against a program.u.select strives to:
• Provide accurate data to students regarding course equivalencies and applicability.
• Provide an accurate resource for advisors who advise transfer students.
• Provide an avenue for schools to present their "transfer friendliness."
• Not be limited to state boundaries.
DARS, the Degree Audit Reporting System Project, provides students with current and accurate transfer and course information to enhance their degree and program planning.
- Minnesota State Colleges and Universities students have access to their DARS reports via the student information web portal.
- University of Minnesota students use DARS through the Academic Progress Audit System (APAS).
A DARS or APAS report shows students:
- Courses and requirements already completed for their declared major at the institution they are attending.
- Courses and requirements they still need to complete for that major.
- Course options to plan registration.
- How previously taken transfer courses and approved academic petitions/exceptions apply toward their graduation requirements.
