Fire Fighters

Fire fighters put out fires and rescue people who are in danger.

There are two types of fire fighters. Forest fire fighters work only on fires in forests and rangelands. City fire fighters handle all other fires.

Fire Fighters are in the Law, Public Safety, and Security career cluster and the Emergency and Fire Management Services pathway.

  • Drive and operate firefighting vehicles and equipment.
