Wells and Borings: Pump Installer License
The license information below is specific to the state of Minnesota.
Description
License Requirements:
Qualification Application (document experience):
-2 years of experience (20 installations total, 1000 hours total).
Examination:
-pass a written exam (given at any District office).
Licensing (original) and annual renewals:
-provide $2000 corporate surety bond,
-register pump hoists,
-provide worker's comp. insurance info.,
-provide tax ID info (original licensing only),
-document 6 contact hours continuing education (renewals only).
License Fees:
Qualification Application - $75
Original License/Renewal - $75
Registration of Pump Hoists - $75
Period:
Annual (February 1 - January 31).
Determination:
Variable, depending on adequacy of documentation, identification of problems during application review, results of examination, or problems obtaining a bond.
Typically, within 3 months of qualification application submittal.
Other Information:
The MDH actually licenses the company. The individual, who must meet the experience and exam requirements, serves as the license representative.
