Audiologist License

The license information below is specific to the state of Minnesota.


Description

License Requirements:
License system provides practice and title protection for audiologists.

Requirements include:

-Doctoral degree in an accredited program.

-Completion of a clinical fellowship of post-graduate professional experience.

-A qualifying score on the National Examination in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology (NESPA).

-A passing score on practical tests of proficiency for hearing instrument dispensing.

Renewal of licensure requires documentation of continuing education.

License Fees:
Biennial license - $200

Biennial surcharge - $235

Initial fees are prorated according to the number of months remaining until the first scheduled license renewal.


Period:
Biennial renewal.


Determination:
30 to 60 days.

Agency also offers temporary license for clinical fellow / doctoral externship Audiologist. Fee is prorated with maximum fee of $150 for an 18 month period. This license can be renewed once. This license can only be used during the clinical fellow or doctoral externship period.

Agency also has a temporary license for those who are in the process of seeking permanent licensing. The license is good for 90 days or when full license is issued. The fee is $50.
